Ryder System Regional Senior Continuous Improvement Manager in DALLAS, Texas

Position Description

The Sr Mgr of Lean Deployment will work with site leaders to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs, update and re-prioritize the plan to maintain focus on the most critical objectives. Develop a thorough effective and timely continuous improvement plan to address the top business needs at Ryder sites. Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Identify and transform key products Value Streams. Train and develop Value Stream Managers in the product Value Stream transformation. Align Lean Guiding Principles to business unit strategy. Train and coach process owners how to use Lean tools to achieve operational excellence. Manage Lean activities relating to the deployment of Lean across the business. Interface with Executive levels to establish standards, Lean communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent.

  • Minimum of 7 years process or operaton management experience. TQM, Lean and/or Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Mixed Model Flow/Pull and other process improvement experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

Additional Requirements

  • Business/Engineering/Logistics or equivalent. MBA preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred, attainment is required within 12 months of hire.

  • Ability to learn new concepts, interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate and motivate teams. System and change implementation skills. Communication skills. Manage direct reports and staff functions.

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Project, SPC, Excel, Internal Audit/Corrective Action Systems Software (e.g. JKT), Minitab, Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train site leadership and other key personnel on Ryder Lean Guiding Principles concepts and Lean Transformational Processes in concert with the Supply Chain Solutions deployment strategy, and develop shop floor experts capable of driving Lean in their areas. Coach and mentor others on Lean so it becomes engrained in Ryder's culture. Educate, coach and qualify Lean Managers.

  • Work with site leadership to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs.

  • Develop a thorough, effective and timely Lean continuous improvement deployment plan to address the top business needs at Ryder sites.

  • Facilitate VSM's, Lead Kaizen events, Lean projects, and other activities that execute the sites Lean transformational improvement plan.

  • Coach and mentor the implementation of MDI and RCCM processes and Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives and remove barriers to deployment of continuous improvement plan.

  • Work with site leadership to update and re-prioritize the plan to maintain focus on the most critical site objectives. Provide support and guidance on more complex, or high visibility Lean projects.

  • Multi-location over-site on Lean implementations.

  • Manages direct reports and reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty. Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
